The trial court's decision to terminate parental rights must be supported by specific findings that conform to the statutory requirements. On review, the appellate courts exercise great caution, and will only affirm the trial court after a close inquiry into the sufficiency of the evidence to determine whether the petitioner has met its burden of proof.
